The Journey to a pottery studio in Shimokitazawa Tokyo

So today marks the day that I got the go ahead from the landlord of my future pottery studio.

The application process has been a roller coaster with a lot of complication due to my student visa status, my confusing background (China, US, Japan, student but also worked for 10+ years), and also the fact that I'm gonna put something called a KILN into the rental space. It has not been easy but I found the space that checks all, almost, the boxes.

  • Close to home, 15 mins on foot somewhere in Shimokitazawa
  • Concrete everything
  • Close to cute coffee shops and the supermarket that we go for fancy cheese and whiskeys, and a special kind of icecream.

The bummer is that it does not allow dog, which puts my plan to have a dog on hold for another maybe 2 years. Our current apartment only allows medium sized dogs so samoyed is out of the window. :(

Anyhow, this marks a new beginning.

Cheers.
